TRAVIS SCOTT ARRESTED IN PARIS OVER HOTEL VIOLENCE

Rap superstar Travis Scott who feature with Nigeria star Asake is currently trending globally has been taken into custody by French authorities following a physical altercation with his bodyguard at the luxurious George V hotel in Paris.

According to reports, the 33-year-old artist allegedly assaulted a security guard who attempted to intervene in the dispute between Scott and his bodyguard on Friday morning. French prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation into the incident, citing “unspecified violence” against the guard.

A spokesperson for Scott confirmed the arrest, stating, “We are working closely with local authorities to resolve this matter swiftly and will provide updates as necessary”.

The incident occurred just a day after Scott was spotted at Team USA’s Olympic basketball match against Serbia, where he was photographed alongside American businessman Michael Rubin and fellow rapper Quavo.

This is not Scott’s first run-in with the law. Earlier this year, he was arrested in Miami following an argument on a private yacht, although prosecutors later dropped charges of disorderly intoxication. He still faces a trespassing charge related to the incident.

Scott, a 10-time Grammy Award nominee, has been at the center of controversy in recent years. In 2021, a crowd surge at his Astroworld festival in Houston resulted in the deaths of 10 fans, although he did not face criminal charges. He remains embroiled in civil cases related to the incident.

Despite these setbacks, Scott remains one of the biggest names in hip-hop, with a string of chart topping albums, including his most recent UK number one, Utopia and his currently topping chat due to his recent collaboration “active” with Nigeria fast rising superstar Asake.
