10 Aug TRAVIS SCOTT FREED WITHOUT CHARGES AFTER PARIS ARREST
Rap superstar Travis Scott has been released from custody without charges following a 24-hour detainment in Paris, France. The arrest stemmed from an alleged altercation with a hotel security guard at the luxurious Georges V hotel on Friday morning after the release of one of the most anticipated collaborations in the music industry “Active” in the early hours of Friday.
According to a statement from Scott’s representative, “Travis Scott has been released with no charges.” This confirmation comes after the Paris prosecutor’s office announced that Scott was arrested for “violence against a security guard” during an incident involving his bodyguard.
Sources close to the situation revealed that Scott was upset with his bodyguard for failing to protect him from the intense paparazzi presence in Paris, where he was attending the 2024 Olympics. Videos on social media show Scott attempting to evade photographers and seeking assistance from Parisian police.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the altercation, and Scott’s release from detention means he can now attend the gold medal basketball game between Team USA and France, which he was initially arrested before being able to attend.
This incident marks the latest in a series of controversies surrounding Scott, who has been involved in high-profile incidents in recent years, including a crowd surge at his Astroworld festival in 2021 that resulted in 10 fatalities. Despite these challenges, Scott remains a prominent figure in the music industry, with a dedicated fan base and a string of chart topping albums and singles, including his recent featured on the Nigeria rising superstar Asake’s album “Lungu Boy”.
